Princess/Character Performer

The Role:

We’re looking to cast a reliable female entertainer/performer to take on the roles of various princesses and other popular children’s characters to host in-role entertainment at children’s events across Lancashire and Cumbria. The role will include;

  • Interacting in character with children and guests

  • Performing in full costume, with accessories and wig

  • Hosting party games, dances and themed activities with children

  • Singing character songs

  • Posing for photos

  • Setting up and packing down equipment required for the performance

This is a sub-contract role with flexible hours – ideal for fitting around other professional work or training. The role is a permanent position with ongoing booking opportunities at events with us. The majority of events will take place during the day on weekends, with occasional opportunities for additional bookings on weekdays, particularly during school holidays.

Applicant Experience & Requirements:

Our successful candidate will require experience in the following areas:

  • Experience working as a children’s entertainer, such as hosting party games and other activities with groups of children

  • Acting/performance experience - ideally for a child-based audience.

  • Singing to a strong standard

  • Experience interacting in character without a script

 

We are looking for people with the following characteristics:

  • Passionate – to enjoy working with children and bringing their dreams to life for them

  • Well organised, reliable and punctual - to attend all parties they are booked for, on time and with all of the costume and equipment they need to host a successful event

  • Friendly and enthusiastic – to engage children in a party environment and host entertainment with lots of energy

  • Well-presented – to look the part and have a good self-awareness when it comes to their appearance and the appearance of their costume

  • Trustworthy - to take good care of the equipment and costumes in their possession.

  • Adaptable - to be able to think on their feet, improvise and change activities as required in a busy event environment

 

To join our team you must:

  • Be based in Lancaster or the surrounding areas

  • Have good weekend availability

  • Have your own reliable transport to get to bookings

  • Be over the age of 18

  • Be between UK dress sizes 8 to 14

  • Have a valid DBS certificate/pass a DBS check

  • Be registered as self-employed with HMRC

Freelance Face Painter

We are seeking an experienced Lancaster-based Face Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in face painting and enjoy working with children. Work is freelance on a flexible basis, predominantly on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays. We offer competitive rates of pay with accompanying relevant travel costs covered.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering professional face painting for various children's parties and events in the North Lancashire and South Cumbria area. They will be required to complete Face Painting Training upon successful application.

Responsibilities:

  • To face paint children to an excellent standard.

  • To interact with children in an engaging manner - to have fun!

  • To be able to provide a comprehensive selection of face paint designs.

  • To liaise with the event planner whilst on site.

  • To set up their face painting table to company standards.

  • To follow a strict health, hygiene and cleaning routine.

  • To clean up and tidy away after the booking is completed.

  • To maintain painting tools and equipment in good condition.

Requirements:

  • Face Painting experience

  • Experience working with children

  • Weekend availability

  • Valid DBS certificate

  • Access to own vehicle for travel

  • Based in or around Lancaster/Morecambe
